I’ve spent the past 8 months doing a lot of Climate Tech research. Here are the top 4 books to read about the topic: 1. How To Avoid A Climate Disaster 👉 https://amzn.to/3gzVERq Bill Gates' overview of the climate change problem and its solutions. Super easy to read yet it covers many different topics. 2. The Ministry For The Future 👉 https://amzn.to/3tXpJ0t A novel about how climate change will affect us. An optimistic view in a realistic bad scenario. One of Obama's favorite books. 3. How Bad Are Bananas 👉 https://amzn.to/3i0fBBg Mike Berners-Lee is the biggest expert in carbon footprinting. He writes a summarized analysis of the carbon footprint of all sorts of stuff. 4. Green Swans 👉 https://amzn.to/3VnubkW By John Elkington, the creator of the “triple bottom line” concept. An analysis of the regenerative capitalism boom. I believe the positive impact from reading these books is greater than the negative impact of the book shipping. Oh and I like this "I believe the positive impact from reading these books is greater than the negative impact of the book shipping." I am all for appropriate Climate Shadow over Carbon Footprint
I love your posts. Seriously. Thank you so much.
Thanks for sharing, Javier!
Love all 4 of these Javier Gascón Araujo. I would add Speed & Scale by John Doerr. I love the approach he has taken and the audible is excellent for on the go!
I'd also add "Under the Sky We Make" and "Under a White Sky". And to look at your local library and bookstores for books before ordering off amazon.
Javier Gascón Araujo the term “climate tech” can be problematic because it assumes that if we implement technical solutions to our “climate problem”, we can solve it. This is false. Our climate predicament is due to a constellation of interrelated economic, political, and social breakdowns all stemming from flawed worldviews of separation. I highly recommend reading Jason Hickel’s Less is More for a deeper look into how capitalism is driving climate breakdown to deepen your journey. Next I’d add Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer. Another great read is Restoring the Kinship Worldview by Wahinkpe Topa and Darcy’s Narvaez.
Awesome books Javier..will help a lot, and man you are doing great job 👏🏻
I would add Drawdown - The Most Comprehensive Plan Ever Proposed To Reverse Global Warming ! Nice list
I'm currently reading Speed & Scale. A book on applying OKRs to climate change actionables!
